Gain Independence from Mold in Your Home!

You might have forgotten the specifics about the Boston Tea Party, Taxation without Representation, and the Revolutionary War that you learned during your history classes, but the general concept of Independence Day is clear as day. Several hundred years ago on July 4th, Americans took a step to break free from the tyrannical rule of the British government.

Like young America, you probably have something that you should break free of, and that’s mold in your home! You might think that mold can simply be wiped away, that if you don’t see it that it’s gone, but you’re wrong. Mold spores can actually become airborne and spread throughout your home. This Fourth of July season, consider using AQHI, Inc to help you break free from the mold in your home!

Where Mold Can Grow

Mold can grow anywhere, but it grows best in dark and humid places. Bathrooms and basements are often culprits, but there are many other places as well. Walls can hold mold, especially if there are leaky pipes contained within them. By the time you see the mold, it’s already grown through the wall. Your attic is another area where mold can grow. If you have a leak in your roof, or your attic is very humid, you might have mold growing there. Another area that you might not think of is around heating and cooling appliances, such as furnaces or refrigerators. Mold can grow anywhere, but these are the most common areas to check.

Why it Matters

Mold is not just an unsightly irritant. Mold spores can actually cause adverse health effects that are detrimental to you and your family. If there are mold spores in your home you can develop asthma, dry or sore eyes, itchy skin and even a cough. Sneezing, a runny nose or sore throat are also common health issues when there is mold present. More severe molds, such as black mold, can cause even worse issues, so you need to take it seriously!

How it Works

There are a few different ways to remove mold, that include removing the material showing mold growth, removing the mold growth from non-porous materials, and even vacuuming contents with HEPA filtered vacuums. We also dry and dehumidify moist areas, purify the air with HEPA air exhaust systems, and wash surfaces with biocide solutions. The method utilize – or combination of methods – depends entirely on the situation and we will assess the area when we conduct our evaluation.
